Yesterday I had the opportunity to work with members of the Williamsport Area High School Key Club.  Each year, we donate 100 bowls to the Central PA Food Bank for their 'Soup and a Bowl' Event.  We have had a variety of wonderful organizations come in to paint the bowls but I have to say that this year was my absolute favorite.  These young people gave up their Sunday afternoon to volunteer their time.  They were enthusiastic and simply wonderful!  We hear about so much negativity about young people so watching them in action was a joy!  Not only did each of them paint 3 or 4 bowls but they helped clean everything up and were extremely helpful!  Their creativity and dedication is helping wipe out hunger in Central PA.  We are happy to do our share by donatng 100% of the bowls and materials and these kids certainly did their share!

November flew by- it seems like every month goes a little bit faster.  Until January.  Then time will crawl until it is warm again!  Today we are celebrating my youngest daughter's 18th birthday.  The idea that I am now the mother of 2 adults is wild-  I keep asking where has the time gone?!?!

This is our 4th Christmas at The Glaze to Be and we are so appreciative for all of you that come in to make Christmas presents year after year.  It is esepcially rewarding to us to watch the babies who did footprint plates are now old enough to paint their own presents to give as gifts!

Handmade gifts are perfect gifts!  Gift certificates also make great presents- giving the gift of a fun experience is always a huge winner!

It's hard to believe that it is already November- Halloween has come and gone!  We have had a gorgeous fall which makes it harded to believe it is already November.  Tomorrow is our daughter's last high school tennis match in Hershey at the State Finals.  We are excited and sad to watch the matches.

As the weather starts to cool down, things are heating up at The Glaze to be- we have classes and events for all ages!

We would like to thank everyone for being so patient with out crazy hours in September and early October.  We have been watching our daughter's final tennis season and yesterday she captured the District 2-4 Singles' Championship.  Earlier this week, her team earned the District Championship title as well.  We loved being able to watch all the games!  We will be closed one more day for tennis, November 4th, so we can watch her compete at states in Hershey.

In the meantime, we have tons of Halloween pieces to paint!  Lots of great classes and workshops are scheduled from now through Christmas.  All ages and no experience is ever necessary!

October is almost here!  It seems as if September flew by this year.  As a mom and former high school teacher, I always think of the beginning of the school year as the start of the year, not January 1st.  As much as I love the summer, I think fall is a close second.  Although the days grow shorter and the nights cooler, there is something special about this time of year.

Ath the studio, we are gearing up for the upcoming holidays.  After spending a week in Charleston earlier this month at our annual conference, we are loaded with new techniques, products and ideas!  Below are a sampling of some new things at the studio!

We thank everyone for their understanding at our many changes in our studio hours in September and October.  Our oldest daughter is a junior at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and we spent time with her helping her set up her new apartment.  This weekend we are heading down there to celebrate her 21st birthday- we are thrilled that she wants us to be there!  Our youngest, a senior at Williamsport Area High School, is in her final tennis season.  It has been great to be able to see all her tennis matches this year!  It is so hard to believe that after this year we will be empty-nesters.  I think I would rather not think about that right now....
